How We Control Aquatic Weed

Cutting, Collection & Removal

Different levels and types of growth require different approaches. Our equipment allows us to cut, collect, and remove aquatic vegetation according to the species, site conditions, and management requirements.

Cutting Aquatic Vegetation

Truxor-mounted cutting equipment can cut surface and submerged vegetation to depths of almost 2 metres, helping to restore open water and control excessive plant growth. Different cutting equipment can be used according to the type and density of vegetation, allowing work to be adapted to the conditions of the watercourse.

Collection & Removal

Cut vegetation can be collected and removed from the water using specialist attachments including grip rakes and grab buckets. Removing the cut material prevents it from returning to the watercourse and contributing to further growth. Collected vegetation can be transported to a suitable location on or near the site for processing or disposal.

Root & Rhizome Removal

Some species, including water lilies and reeds, can regenerate from extensive root and rhizome systems. Where repeated cutting is unlikely to provide sufficient control, these can be physically removed using specialist equipment. Grip rakes and grab buckets can be used to lift root and rhizome material from the watercourse, providing a longer-term approach to controlling persistent growth.
